麻豆视频 (NPC) named Tylor Clark the 2026 Outstanding Staff Member of the Year during the college鈥檚 annual Employee Recognition Day. The award is nominated and selected by peers.
Clark began at NPC as a student after graduating high school in 2015, earning his Associate of Arts degree in 2017 before joining the college later that year as an IT support analyst. He has now served the institution professionally for more than eight years.
In his role, Clark supports the College鈥檚 Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS) and campus technology infrastructure, helping improve efficiency, communication and accessibility for faculty and students. Colleagues credit him with streamlining course creation and enrollment processes, introducing underused Brightspace features and developing tools that improve organization and student engagement.
鈥淭ylor identified, researched and made available features that were already available in D2L but that we weren鈥檛 currently using,鈥� said Dr. Alexandra Barnard, associate professor and academic programs director for lab science and pre-engineering. 鈥淗e is always professional, friendly, curious and willing to help out however he can.鈥�
Dr. Sam Christian, dean of curriculum and assessment, said Clark has helped transform the College鈥檚 online learning environment over the past year.
鈥淗e has really improved the online learning department, driving significant improvements in efficiency and support for faculty and students,鈥� Christian said. 鈥淗e is truly an expert and works extremely hard.鈥�
Clark manages course and syllabus creation, enrollment processes and user support within Brightspace while also leading professional development workshops and creating training resources for faculty. Among his accomplishments, he automated several previously manual processes, saving time and improving accuracy across departments.
He has also introduced tools that improve communication and organization for students, including the 鈥淲ork To Do鈥� feature and expanded email integration between Brightspace and campus systems. In addition, Clark is helping develop an early-alert system designed to identify and support at-risk students.
鈥淗e is focused on making Brightspace easy to use and accessible for both students and faculty,鈥� said Kristin Quintanilla, director of the NPC library. 鈥淢uch of his day is spent helping users, either on the phone or in person, with any issues they may have.鈥�
Clark said his work centers on supporting student and faculty success.
鈥淚 assist students and faculty with accessing and managing their courses, making sure they have everything they need to learn and develop their skills,鈥� he said.
He added that collaboration has been key to his success.
鈥淢y willingness to work with other departments to improve our existing systems has helped me succeed,鈥� Clark said. 鈥淓verything I do is shaped around input from students and faculty.鈥�
Clark said he was honored to receive the recognition from his peers.
鈥淢y work, care and dedication have been recognized by those around me,鈥� he said. 鈥淢any people stood out to me this year as outstanding, but I was lucky to have been selected.鈥�
Looking ahead, Clark plans to continue expanding faculty training opportunities and improving systems that support student success. He also expressed appreciation for the collaborative culture at NPC.
鈥淲hen I think of NPC, I think of teamwork, learning and support,鈥� Clark said. 鈥淲ithout us working together, none of this would even matter.鈥�
Clark鈥檚 dedication, innovative mindset and commitment to service make him a deserving recipient of the award and a key contributor to the college鈥檚 mission.
